This custom TV wall project was designed and built for a young family in North York who wanted a more functional and finished living room.
When the client contacted us, the space did not have a TV wall, and the family needed a better way to enjoy the room together while also creating hidden storage for their two young daughters’ toys.
The home had already been renovated when they purchased it a few years ago, so the goal was not to redesign the entire open-concept space, but to create something that felt integrated with what was already there.
We started with the design phase, helping the client review the furniture layout, choose the best wall for the TV, define the cabinet proportions, and decide how much built-in cabinetry made sense for the space and budget.
At first, a full floor-to-ceiling built-in was considered. After reviewing the room, the proportions, and the budget, we decided that the best solution was a long lower cabinet with wall paneling above. This allowed us to create storage, frame the TV, and make the wall feel intentional without making the room feel too heavy.
The colour used was Sherwin-Williams Aged White, selected to match the existing kitchen cabinets and help unify the open-concept living area with one consistent tone.
From final design approval to installation, the custom millwork took approximately four weeks to be ready. The installation was completed in three days.
The result is a soft, classic, and functional TV wall that gives the family storage, a better living room layout, and a more finished space for everyday life.
