Pastel Color Accent Wall – East York Toronto

The Story Begins

When Stephanie first reached out to us at Habitual Homes, she had a simple yet touching request. She had just moved into her beautiful new home in East York, Toronto, with her family, and she wanted each of her children’s rooms to have a unique touch that reflected their personalities.

The challenge was alluring, and we were more than ready to take it on. But the request that captured our hearts the most was for her daughter, Amelia, a lively 4-year-old with dreams as colourful as a pastel rainbow.

Understanding the Palette

Stephanie’s home décor had a subtle charm to it. Cozy furniture, elegant pieces, and a palette of pastel colours brought a sense of warmth and intimacy. She wanted Amelia’s room to align with this scheme but with a touch of whimsy, something that would make her little daughter’s eyes sparkle.

And thus began our journey to design the perfect accent wall for Amelia.

Designing the Magic

We sat down with Stephanie, pondering ideas, sketching patterns, and visualizing Amelia’s wonderland. We wanted the design to resonate with the innocence of a child’s imagination yet blend seamlessly with the sophisticated charm of the house.

The idea was to create a pattern that would embody gentleness. After a few creative brainstorming sessions, we settled on a design—a few lines crossing gently above the bed, like the soft embrace of a fairy’s wings or the gentle sweep of a magic wand.

A Colorful Decision

Choosing the right colour was another adventure. We aimed for something that would complement the rest of the house yet provide a gentle emphasis to Amelia’s room. Our first suggestion, Pale Berry by Benjamin Moore, seemed a promising option. But when we put a sample on the wall, it felt a bit too dark.

We needed something softer and more radiant. That’s when Beloved Pink, a colour by Berh, caught Stephanie’s eye. It was love at first sight, a shade that felt like a gentle hug, wrapping the room in a tender embrace.

Installation: A Journey of Patience

This project was a dance of creativity and patience. Stephanie contacted us even before taking possession of the house, providing ample time for planning, iterations, and decisions.

We worked hand in hand, ensuring that every element was just perfect, from pattern to colour to placement. We scheduled the best date for both and proceeded with the installation after all the design elements were defined.

The Magic Unveiled

Words cannot truly capture the magic we witnessed when Amelia’s accent wall was finally ready. It was a piece of art, a manifestation of love, and a dream turned into reality.

We just finished the installation, and the excitement to share it with you is overwhelming! We hope Amelia finds joy, comfort, and endless dreams in her newly transformed bedroom.
