This modern media wall was part of a basement renovation in Carleton Village, Toronto. Our client wanted a clean, functional space with custom storage, a minimalist TV installation, and a feature element that added warmth and texture.
We designed a full media wall with matte black shelving, warm wood drawers, and a vertical slatted panel to bring depth and softness to the room. The new unit hides cables, improves storage, and creates a strong visual focal point without overwhelming the basement.
The final result is a sleek, modern media wall that elevates the entire lower level and gives the space a polished, finished feel.
Design Intent
The basement originally had a simple TV stand against a blank wall. There was no structure, no storage, and no design intent. The goal was to create a clean, functional media wall that grounded the room and brought a modern aesthetic to the space.
The completed media wall combines strong modern lines with warm textures. The matte black shelving provides contrast, while the wood drawers and slatted feature panel help soften the space. Integrated wire management keeps everything clean and streamlined.
This transformation shows how thoughtful cabinetry and material selection can turn an unused wall into a high-end, functional feature.
