It all started with a shared table…
Two laptops. One charger. Endless wires.
No room to breathe, let alone focus.
That’s the setup so many couples, families, and professionals found themselves in over the last few years — trying to do real work in spaces that were never designed for it.
We kept hearing the same thing:
“We both work from home now… but we have nowhere to actually work.”
So we decided to design a solution. Something that looked built-in — because it is. Something beautiful, but not just for show. Something project-ready, but custom to your wall.
That’s how the Pieter Home Office Unit was born.

What Is the Pieter?
The Pieter is a custom-fit, built-in home office unit designed for two people. It’s part of our new collection of project-ready designs — furniture pieces that we’ve already thoughtfully designed and can tailor to your space without starting from scratch.
It’s more than a desk. It’s a complete workstation, fully installed in your home by our team. It brings together:
- A shared work surface for two people
- Open shelving for books or decor
- Lower cabinets for storage
- A clean, warm white oak finish
- Made-to-measure dimensions that fit your wall
Whether you’re working with your partner, homeschooling your kids, or just want a workspace that actually works — Pieter is made for you.

Materials
The Pieter is crafted using:
- White Oak Veneer on Particle Board – A durable, timeless surface that brings the natural beauty of white oak with added stability and strength.
- Solid White Oak Trim & Cabinet Frames – Instead of edge tape, we use real solid oak pieces to finish the edges and cabinet frames, giving it a premium, seamless look that lasts.
- Solid White Oak Doors – Built with real wood for long-term durability and a warm, natural texture.
- Custom Countertop – Crafted to match the unit’s colour and tone for a cohesive finish.
We hand-select our materials for both beauty and function — everything you see is made to last.

Why Built-Ins Work Better
Built-in furniture isn’t just about looks — it’s about how a space feels.
When you install a custom unit like Pieter, you instantly get:
- More usable space (no wasted corners or awkward gaps)
- Less clutter (everything has a home)
- A calm, finished look (no more mismatched desks or visible wires)
- Better resale value (buyers love custom work)
Compared to freestanding desks or cobbled-together furniture, the Pieter desk feels like it was always meant to be there — because it is.
Available in the GTA Only
We currently serve the Greater Toronto Area, because we believe in full-service, high-quality work — and that includes the install.
We visit your home, take care of the measurements, build the unit, and install it ourselves. No kits. No contractors. Just Habitual Homes from start to finish.
