- Demolition: Removed the old tub, tiles, toilet, and vanity, along with the bulkhead in the shower area to open up the space.
- Plumbing and Electrical: Adjusted plumbing to suit the new rain shower and upgraded electrical for modern lighting.
- Tiling and Waterproofing: Installed 24×48 inch porcelain tiles chosen by Raj, using Schlüter systems for superior waterproofing.
- Fixtures and Finishes: Updated vanity, added a new toilet, rain shower, and sleek sliding glass doors.
Process Breakdown
- Initial Demolition:
We began by removing the existing bulkhead, which allowed us to expand the vertical space in the shower area. Following that, we stripped out the old tiles, tub, toilet, and vanity to start fresh. - Preparation and Waterproofing:
After clearing the space, we prepped the floor and walls for waterproofing. We installed Schlüter Ditra outside the shower and a Schlüter shower kit to ensure a fully sealed and protected area, ready for new tiles. - Tiling and Fixture Installation:
The large-format 24×48 inch porcelain tiles gave the bathroom a luxurious, clean look, with minimal grout lines for a seamless effect. We then installed the rain shower and framed it with sliding glass doors, adding both functionality and style.
